The State of Mental Health in America – Curated Content by evolvedMD (Jan 2021)

According to the CDC, 11% of adults have seriously considered suicide in the past 30 days (a twofold increase during the pandemic). From this harrowing statistic, we know that the pandemic has dramatically exasperated what was already a national mental health crisis.

With that,  the evolvedMD team wanted to give you, our trusted partners, a look into why we do what we do. In perhaps the most famous TED Talk around, Simon Sinek urges leaders to start with why; here’s ours: evolvedMD is at the forefront of behavioral health integration for a simple reason – we know that people are struggling now more than ever, and we want everyone to have access to quality behavioral health services. Our why? The millions of Americans who need someone to offer support, guidance, or simply someone to talk to.

While we know that you understand the importance of behavioral health (otherwise you wouldn’t be with evolvedMD), we wanted to provide you with a few reports, stories, and studies that give greater context to the mental health pandemic. It is also our goal to give you insight into how the work we are doing together is not only critically important, but oftentimes life-changing and sometimes, lifesaving.

What’s We’re Reading at evolvedMD

Not an exhaustive list by any means, these are just a few pieces that highlight what’s happening in our country and why the services we offer together are vital to the overall health of many Americans.
