Meet the evolvedMD Team – Managers Edition

Behind every great team is a great manager (as a recent report from Predictive Index shows, the manager is the most valuable person in an employee's journey) – someone who not only guides their people towards achieving company objectives, but also facilitates personal and professional development. evolvedMD is committed to building a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters continuous learning, and today, we’d like you to meet the people who champion our employees to reach their full potential.

As part of our campaign to highlight members of the evolvedMD team, it’s our pleasure to introduce you to the managers who serve our business across various functions. Their diverse backgrounds and extensive experience are critical to the success of our patients, providers, and employees, and we can’t thank them enough for everything they do.

Meet them below:

Jeff Ainsa, LCSW | Clinical Manager

About Jeff: Jeff is a Master’s-level clinician who also holds an independent clinical licensure. Jeff’s experience includes working with law enforcement, substance abuse, general mental health, and with patients struggling with gender and sexual identity. Jeff enjoys working with patients to help them to live their best lives while being the best version of themselves. When he’s not working at one of our clinics, he works at his private practice and enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending various local sporting events, going to the movies, playing games, and eating out at local restaurants.

Fun Fact: He would love to someday be able to spend a week or more learning about farm life and what goes into the day-to-day life of a farmer to get the food and milk we use.


Jenn Briones, MSW | Business Operations Manager


About Jenn: From working in human resources to serving as a SMI case manager to managing a few pawn shops, Jenn’s diverse professional experience makes her an invaluable asset to the evolvedMD team. As Business Operations Manager, she is responsible for keeping things chugging along as the company rapidly expands and realizes its growth ambitions. An Arizona native, she hails from the small town of San Simon and enjoyed a brief stay in Texas before returning to Arizona for good in the Valley. She is passionate about making a difference and ensuring people receive the proper resources so they can live their best lives possible. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Jenn at home spending time with her family and relaxing with one of ten dogs in her lap.

Fun Fact: She has ten – yes, ten! – dogs.


Nancy Jo McLeod, LCSW | Training Manager

About Nancy Jo: Nancy Jo has made a lasting impact in the behavioral health field in all capacities. From working in crisis management with the police department to outreach for the Army to running her own coaching business and publishing a book, she brings extensive experience to her role as evolvedMD’s Training & Development Manager. In addition to earning a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s in Social Work, she also earned enough credits to graduate with an anthropology degree and pondered a career as an archaeologist before deciding to become a therapist. A “right fighter,” she is a passionate about ending mental health stigma, advocating for her kids so they can live their best lives, and educating others on acceptance and tolerance. In her free time, she enjoys tapping into her creative energy through various art projects and visiting haunted places to learn about their spine-chilling histories.

Fun Fact: Her hobby before having kids was riding motocross – she had a Honda XR250.


Alicia Shipman, LCSW | Clinical Manager

About Alicia: Alicia’s career is rooted in her passion to reimagine behavioral health care and help people live their best lives. After earning her Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University, she began her journey working in the non-profit sector doing grant writing and development for a small family homeless shelter. From there, she worked with a family preservation team at Arizona’s Children Association before transitioning into full-time medical social work. Today, she is making a demonstrable impact for providers as one of evolvedMD’s Clinical Managers as well as a therapist through her private practice, Lish Wellness. Outside of work, some of her passions include reducing the stigma associated with mental illness, engaging in activities with her family through their church, and spending time outdoors hiking Arizona’s many trails.

Fun Fact: She lived in Spain while studying abroad for her undergraduate degree.


Joy Simon | Care Coordination Manager


About Joy: After earning her Master’s from Arizona State University and spending the first part of her career working in education in university admissions, Joy found her calling in the behavioral health industry with evolvedMD. Her primary role is managing the company’s Care Coordination team to ensure our Behavioral Health Managers and primary care sites are adequately equipped, both clinically and operationally, to drive the best patient outcomes. Whether it’s her family, friends, or her employees, she is passionate about helping people reach their full potential so they can lead meaningful, high-impact lives. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children, dabbling in various creative projects including interior design, and getting in a good workout before she takes on the day.

Fun Fact: She was adopted and was also a foster mom to a 14-day-old baby boy years ago.


Leslie Stumpff, LCSW | Clinical Manager


About Leslie: Leslie is a Master’s-level clinician whose experience includes working with law enforcement, substance abuse, severe and persistent mental health, and general mental health. Leslie has worked with a variety of people of various age groups and enjoys supporting others in finding their solutions. She believes in individualized treatment that meets the needs of each distinct individual. Leslie is originally from Kansas and has made Arizona her home since 2016. Family is very important to Leslie and she recently moved her parents to Arizona to be closer to her and her sister. When she’s not working, Leslie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is very passionate about animals and enjoys spending time with her dog who she enjoys taking for walks when the weather is nice.

Fun Fact: She loves to make people laugh and would’ve become a stand-up comedian if not a counselor. Also, she is probably the last person on this planet to have a Hotmail account.
